Halloween Guide to San Diego
While the weather may not say so, it’s officially fall in Southern California! Even the warm-temperature-loving San Diegans like to participate in some fun, fall-inspired activities…and one of the biggest festivities of the season is right around the corner. This week the Alexan ALX team is sharing a guide to All Things Halloween in San Diego, from downtown to North County.
Haunted Trails of Balboa Park – Get spooked and burn some calories at the same time while you walk through the haunted woods and outposts located in San Diego’s gorgeous Balboa Park. Not ready to hit the trails? Try their affiliated Haunted Hotel in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp district, featured on the Travel Channel’s show “America’s Scariest Haunts.” Afterwards you can head back home to your Alexan ALX dream apartment and hide under the covers in your comfy, king size bed!

San Diego Monster Bash – This one is for the grown-ups! Dress to the nines and be part of San Diego’s most unique and glamorous Halloween Block Party on Saturday, October 28th. If you’re into the San Diego scene, then this is the place you need to be for Halloween weekend. One of the many benefits of choosing Alexan ALX as your home is the walkability score to all the downtown happenings and attractions while still enjoying the quaint luxury of high rise living.

Lavender Hill Pumpkins – Take a short car ride or UBER “up north” to be captivated by the natural beauty of this spot. Tip: Lavender Hill Pumpkins is highly Instagramable and even offers photoshoots for families and couples. Bring back some festive pumpkins and décor to place out on your spacious Alexan ALX balcony overlooking the downtown skyline or San Diego bay.

The Scream Zone – Head to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for San Diego’s largest and most-talked-about haunted experience. This is a perfect activity to do with a group, or as a unique date night. If you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted and fun, we suggest taking a trip to the Pumpkin Station Pumpkin Patch also located in Del Mar (other San Diego locations are also listed on their website).
Trick-or-Treat on India St. – This is the perfect place to take the little ones in your life for the ultimate trick-or-treat experience. On Friday, October 27th the businesses of Little Italy open their doors to the public to create one of the most magical trick-or-treating walks for kids. Even if you’re past the trick-or-treating age, it’s still fun to grab a pumpkin spice concoction and people watch until your heart’s content. Tip: Just like Alexan ALX, this neighborhood is very pet-friendly so feel free to bring the pups!
